James and I have reached a milestone in our role as parents. We have now survived a trip to the Emergency Room. Natalie was playing with her cousins when she decided to pull a stocking hanging from the fireplace. The stocking came down, along with its holder, splitting open the area just above her lip. It wasn't too bad, she was playing again within 5 minutes, but since it was on her face, we wanted to play it safe. So after 3 hours (8-11pm) in the ER, Natalie came home a little high and with three stitches. It's already looking great, and it's only been 5 days, but we were told that we need to put sunscreen on it three times a day for a year so it doesn't bleach. Natalie did awesome at the hospital, she was so brave and hardly cried at all. And at the end, she got a purple popsicle, which at times we had to guide into her mouth because she was a little out of it.

Oh so sad! 3 times a day for a year is crazy! Good luck!
Everyone had a very dangerous holiday-between Avery and Natalie at Christmas and Jakson at Thanksgiving, it's probably just the age.... :)
Glad to see that she's going to be okay-that's a scary thing though, especially when there is blood involved it seems to make it more serious.
Wow, she is definitely giving you a run for your money. Hope that's it for a while. And I thought boys were crazier!
Mackenzie split the area between her nose and mouth at the exact same age! There is hardly a detectable scar now :o)! Good luck with recovery- don't worry I won't call social services ha ha!
i hate the hospital.
Poor Natsker. Thankfully, she looked pretty good when I saw her a couple of days ago...
Oh - that's the worst! The good thing is I totally didn't notice anything on her face tonight. The poor thing!
Three times a day for a year! Oy,vey! That is a big commitment!
