Random Post

James challenged me last night to create a new post today, so here I am. I was complaining to him that if I don't post about Natalie, I really have no idea what to post about, isn't that sad? I have some really creative friends who write interesting posts that aren't to do with their kids and I'm a little jealous of their talents. It may sound really nerdy, but we brainstormed some things I could post about besides Natalie...I am sounding really pathetic, I know! What would pre-mom Melissa say about this!

So I have decided to reveal a little known fact about myself that will shock you all, I'm sure! It has been a wish of mine for the last few years to learn how to play the banjo and be able to play it well. Everytime I hear a song (not country) that features the banjo, I have an unexplained euphoria and immediately smile and start swaying or tapping my foot. I have heard it being used in songs by Travis, Dave Matthews Band, Guster, and Fountains of Wayne . I must admit as well, that I am a fan of Alison Kraus because of her banjo talents (or someone in her band). Anyway, my secret is out, now James will know exactly what to get me for a present one day =).

By the way, "little known facts about Melissa" was not one of the topics brainstormed last night, I came up with this one as I was writing this.

That is really fascinating. It really is. And thank goodness it's not the bagpipes!

Inez would love it if you played the banjo because she really likes to sing "Oh Susannah." So for her to see someone actually playing a "banjo on their knee", would be a highlight for her. Can you make this happen for our trip next month? That would be greatly appreciated.

Wow--and you call yourself uncreative?! I think not.

Thanks for coming up and hanging with me and the boys this afternoon. It was fun to chat.
