Daddy/Daughter Weekend

Well, Melissa is back from her Warner Springs weekend. But before she blogs all about it, I have to update you on the happenings with Natty Gan and I this past weekend. First of all, I'm happy to report that we had no difficulties to speak of. Natalie would inquire after "Mama?" from time to time, but I would simply say she was with Grandma in Warner Springs and that was enough to appease her. So now, on to the activities...

Saturday morning, Natters helped me water the plants (and her pants)...

Next, we ventured across the street to the park. It was a cool morning which evidently gave Natalie the park to herself.

I think I love watching Natalie on the slide as much as she loves going down it (after hanging out at the top forever, of course).

Natalie is a big fan of the swings too. Now, I will admit her hair is looking a little crazy but I have a ready excuse. We were up early to help clean the church and everyone shows up in their grubbies...I didn't want her to feel like she didn't fit in.

As the day continued, the sun finally made an appearance. It was the perfect opportunity to try out the new bubble machine we got at Costco earlier in the day. (Please note: Natalie is in her second outfit of the day. Not because she needed one but because Melissa was interested in what I would pick out for her. Darn cute, if you ask me.)

We had lots of fun but we're both glad Mommy is back.

james, it sounds like you did a fabulous job. you probably shouldn't have done such a good job because now liss will have no qualms about leaving the two of you for other weekend excursions...

I was totally wondering about the change of clothes, even before I read the commentary! James, are you sure Nat didn't drip a chocolate ice cream cone down the front of Shirt #1?!

Hooray for James for jumping in on the "natalie's mommy blog!" After being on bedrest for 5 months and watching Will take care of Ethan every night, I'm a firm believer that kids need some Daddy bonding time. Oh, and when my mom went out of town we had some great times having Dad style our hair for church!

James!

I must say that I'm more than pleased to see that the honorable order of Husbands Who Butt Their Way Into Their Wife's Blogs has increased its membership by one (bringing the total to two). Huzzah.

Anyway, keep the posts coming, man. Natalie is very cute.

By the way, aren't blogs great? They let us eavesdrop on each other's lives without actually having to interact.

Katie, you're right...I better be careful.

Kelley, shirt #1 stayed perfectly clean. Shirt #2 didn't fare as well - we had mac & cheese that night and I'm still finding it in her high chair.

Audra, Natalie's hair was easily the most daunting task of the weekend. I actually got a clip to stay on for the duration of church though.

Dave, I'm just following your lead buddy.

I have to vouch for James regarding the hair clip on Sunday. Jennifer and I even commented on how impressed we were that Natalie A)was at church-James could have easily played hokey (I hope I spelled that right) B)that she actually matched from head to toe and C)that he had even thought enough to put a hair clip in. Yeah James-and even if Melissa laid everything out for you-NEVER admit it:)
